We're back with another weekly installment of Oat Mama Meal Plan for Breastfeeding Mothers. We searched for the best-tasting recipes that not only taste delicious but are packed with essential nutrients breastfeeding mothers need, like galactagogues, aka, foods that help support a healthy milk supply. If you have a recipe you love making during this stage of motherhood, shoot us a message in the comments below for a chance to have your favorite recipe featured.
Breakfast - You can never go wrong with Baked Oatmeal. It has been a staple in our kitchen and loved by the whole family. There are so many delicious variations, but this one, in particular, caught our eye with its juicy blueberries and pecans.
*Optional - one OM Lactation Blend Supplement
Mid-morning snack - These Pumpkin Lactation Energy Balls come together quickly and make the perfect morning snack.
Lunch - A Simple Asparagus Lunch with hard-boiled eggs. It's one of our favorites to throw together.
Mid-afternoon snack - a warm mug Lactation Chai Tea Latte.
Recipe:
1 Sachet of OM Chai Spice Lactation Chai Tea
1 cup of coconut milk or almond milk, heated to almost boiling
Drizzle of honey
Steep tea bag in hot milk for 8-10 minutes. Stir in honey. Enjoy!
Makes one serving.
Dinner - These Mediterranean Baked Sweet Potatoes look insanely good and they are full of galactagogue ingredients like chickpeas, cumin, dill, and sweet potatoes! However, since parsley can be considered an anti-galactagogue, we recommend substituting it with chopped arugula and extra dill.
Dessert - Nut Butter Banana Ice Cream. This recipe calls for peanut butter, but an almond butter would make for a dreamy substitution.
