It’s almost that time of year again when you notice Summer is just around the corner - and when all things iced and smoothie-titled are necessary. I love using frozen bananas as the base in most of my smoothies. It adds a thick and creamy element that I love and crave in a smoothie.
With this Banana Chai Spiced Lactation Smoothie, I blended a frozen banana with almond milk, some rolled oats for heartiness (and not to mention, it’s a great lactation supporting ingredient!) and then added a hint of spiciness with some classic chai spices - cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, and cloves. And then to help with a little boost in lactation support, some drops of fenugreek tincture (fenugreek tincture can be found at Whole Foods).

Banana Chai Spiced Lactation Smoothie Recipe
Serves: 1
1 cup almond milk
1 frozen banana, chopped
1 tablespoon rolled oats
1/8 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
10-15 drops of fenugreek tincture
a small dash of cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and nutmeg (emphasizing on the "small" ...these spices pack a powerful punch in flavor, go lightly, my friends)
*Optional - For added sweetness, 1-2 teaspoons pure maple syrup
Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Voila! A delicious and healthy smoothie to start your day and possibly help with your breast milk production. You got this, mamas!
